Description

1970 Lotus Europa S2 (Type 65)
Make no mistake this is a project car, but what a great place to start from. The all fiberglass body is in very good condition and is in need of no bodywork outside of prep and paint. The frame components are in great shape with barely any surface rust, and no rust holes at all. The single cam engine will come to you apart, all major components are there although a new set of bearings and gaskets will be necessary to complete the build. The interior will need carpet and a headliner but the included pieces are in good shape, including the seats. The 4 speed transmission is still in the car and has not been taken apart, but we have no reason to believe it’s not in good condition.
The chassis has only 50,000 miles on it.
When this car is complete it will make a nice lightweight weekend runabout and show vehicle, Europas tend to garner massive attention anywhere they go so be prepared to answer questions from… well, everyone. These cars are becoming increasingly more rare with only just over 3600 of this model produced. The Type 65 or “S2 Federal” was built just for the US market and was only produced for 2 years from 1969 to 1970.
Don’t miss your chance to own this little European racer.
Due to it's age - this car is being sold as-is, where is. We can assist with shipping (at buyer's expense) and hold the car for a reasonable period of time after the transaction. We will ship worldwide. There are no warranties implied or expressed.
We invite and encourage inspections. We have a lift if you should want to see under the car. We have made every attempt to accurately describe the car - please refer to the pictures and ask any question you might have - BEFORE BIDDING. The transaction is binding and there are no returns.
I had hoped to restore this beauty and drive her - but am swamped with my own winter projects, thus have no time. Let someone else enjoy it.
Good Luck Bidding.
